Pros and cons of LostStar Tactics app for iPhone and iPad

LostStar Tactics app good for

The game is good and, fun overall. I recently encountered a bug during the five warriors battle. When the third warrior spawns (the second warrior still being alive) the battle continues as normal up until Im right about to finish off the second warrior. When this happens the game crashes and, I have to restart at the beginning.
Im a fan of turn based strat for 15 years and this game is amazing. I play it on the second difficulty and its veeery well balanced. You cant just mash the same attack or your dead. You have to device a strategy at the start of each battle or your done from the start. Good sound. Very good control. A great deal of depth for 2$ that hold his own against game like FF tactics.
This game reminds me of the original Front Mission... I LOVE IT! Ps for extra hard mode play through the game without your Captain. ;)
Super fun game! In-depth battle system, solid difficulty, rewarding character development. Freezes on the third level for all missions (dark bramble passage). Please fix, developers. I want to keep plaaaaaaying! :P June 3, bug fixed! Super awesome work developers!
Very fun turn based game with nice graphics. Being able to choose skills and enhancements as your characters level up is great as well. Keep up the great work!
Very good game for a great price. But please put retina display or something because even on my iPhone the graphics and even text are blurry! 5 stars if you fix this.

Some bad moments

Absolutely wonderful. Good strategic depth, challenging battles. The deck building concept for your leaders abilities is truly innovative, and wonderfully useful. If you like SRPGs, this is a must buy. Think Fire Emblem, with customizable units.
Similar to the excellent Tactical Warrior, with an interesting card mechanic. Buy it! You wont regret it!
Beautiful Art and fun addictive strategy play. Could start a new craze in strategy games online.
Like Final Fantasy Tactics and Shining Force, only fabulous artwork! Love it.
Great buy if you liked Tactical Warrior. It utilizes the same engine. Many moves are repeated in some form or another. The game is a bit deeper with the skill card mechanism. Im finding the game difficulty challenging but not too overwhelming. Overall a great buy.
Tactical Warrior is one of the very best games Ive played for iOS. I confess Im only a couple dozen battles into LostStar Tactics so far, but the core mechanics are similar, so I feel comfortable rating it. Like Tactical Warrior, this is excellent. The battles are fast and highly tactical. Status effect, attack types, movement range, stamina, special abilities, etc. are all hugely important, but there arent so many variables that you cant keep track of it all. Basically, it doesnt waste its modest complexity--every bit adds directly to making the decisions interesting and tough. Thats the highest praise you can give to a game like this, I think. Similarly, the customization strikes a perfect balance between making your band of warriors your own, and presenting you with constrained and interesting decisions. Each warrior has only two item slots, four active ability slots, and four passive ability slots. You must use them each well! I really like how the new level-up interface gives you more information now about how your decisions will impact your stamina, something which was a little vague in Tactical Warrior but very important. The biggest changes from Tactical Warrior (besides the theme, new units, new abilities, etc.), are the new deck building mechanic for the leader and, or course, the graphics. The deck building mechanic is cool. So far, it doesnt seem quite as tight as the rest of the game (theres a higher complexity to strategy ratio), but its a fun bit of customization. I also suspect it will get deeper and deeper as the game goes on and I collect more cards. The graphics in LostStar Tactics are much more detailed than the super simple cartoony graphics of Tactical Warrior, but I must say, I actually prefer the clearer, iconic graphics of the original. In Tactical Warrior, I could always tell at a glance whether a unit was primarily ranged, melee, or special. Here I find myself constantly tapping to see attack and defense types, even for units I should be familiar with by now. Everyone else seems to love the new graphics though, so it seems Im in the minority. Anyway, graphical quibbles aside, this is a fantastic sequel to Tactical Warrior. I hope it takes off for James, because that man deserves to be rewarded for making such awesome tactical games. I know Ill keep buying every one.
